Beyond Graduation: How IMAGE Prepares Students for Career Success

From hands-on training and business education to career coaching, employer connections, and graduate support, IMAGE helps students prepare for what comes next.

By Emily Tichy | Owner, Institute for Medical Aesthetics & Laser

Choosing a career school is about more than earning a diploma. It’s about gaining the skills, confidence, and professional knowledge needed to take the next step.

At the Institute for Medical Aesthetics & Laser (IMAGE) in North Fort Myers, Florida, we believe career preparation should be part of the educational experience—not something students have to figure out after graduation.

That’s why our approach goes beyond classroom instruction. Students receive hands-on training, business and marketing education, individualized career preparation, and opportunities to connect with local employers.

And when questions arise after graduation, our team is still here to help.

Career Preparation Starts Before Graduation

Whether students are pursuing careers in beauty, wellness, medical aesthetics, or healthcare, technical skills are only one part of professional success.

Knowing how to present yourself to an employer, market your services, build a professional reputation, and communicate confidently can be just as important when entering a new field.

At IMAGE, we incorporate career readiness into the student experience so graduates can approach their next steps with practical skills and greater confidence.

Beauty as a Business: Learning to Build a Professional Reputation

For students entering the beauty and wellness industries, understanding the business side of their profession is an important part of career preparation.

Our Beauty as a Business education introduces students to social media marketing, professional portfolio development, building a clientele, and developing a positive online reputation.

We place particular emphasis on Google Reviews and the role they play in helping businesses earn trust and attract new clients.

Students discuss how to encourage authentic customer reviews, why a strong online reputation matters, and how their professional presence can influence future opportunities.

We also introduce the importance of online visibility, including Google Business Profiles, without losing sight of the fundamentals: providing excellent service, building relationships, and earning the trust of clients.

Whether graduates plan to work for an established salon or spa or eventually open their own business, these are skills they can carry into their careers.

Resume Reviews, Mock Interviews, and Individualized Career Coaching

As graduation approaches, IMAGE provides students with personalized career preparation, including resume reviews, mock interviews, and one-on-one coaching.

And the mock interviews are often an experience students remember!

Many students are understandably nervous beforehand, and some would prefer to skip them altogether. But afterward, those same students frequently tell us that the experience was one of the most valuable parts of their training.

Practicing interview questions, receiving constructive feedback, and learning how to communicate their strengths can make a meaningful difference in their confidence.

For students entering the workforce for the first time—or transitioning into an entirely new career—this preparation helps make the next step feel a little less intimidating.

Our goal is simple: we want graduates to feel prepared to represent themselves professionally and pursue the opportunities they’ve worked toward.

Connecting Students With Employers in Southwest Florida

Career preparation is important, but so are professional connections.

IMAGE regularly hears from salons, spas, medical aesthetics practices, and other employers throughout Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Southwest Florida looking for qualified candidates.

Our team helps connect students and graduates with opportunities that align with their training and professional interests.

Recently, Mya, a member of our admissions team, helped connect IMAGE’s Student of the Month with an opportunity at Rewind Beauty Bar.

It’s a great example of how getting to know our students and maintaining relationships with local businesses can create valuable connections.

We also maintain a dedicated job opportunities area on our website where employers can share openings and recruit IMAGE students and graduates.

While employment is never guaranteed, helping students prepare for and discover professional opportunities is an important part of our commitment to career education.

Support That Continues After Graduation

Graduation is an exciting milestone, but it doesn’t mean graduates will never have another question.

In fact, some of the most important questions arise when someone begins exploring employment opportunities, applying for a professional license, or navigating the requirements of a new industry.

At IMAGE, we encourage graduates to stay connected and reach out when they need guidance.

Graduate Spotlight: Justina Schiff

In September 2026, Justina Schiff graduated from IMAGE’s Electrology & Laser Hair Removal program.

About a month later, she encountered a potential employment opportunity that raised questions about Florida’s laser laws and regulations.

Justina reached out to her former instructor, Jenny, who took time to provide helpful information and connected her with IMAGE owner Emily. Emily personally responded by email, sharing her knowledge of Florida’s laser laws and regulations and providing guidance to help Justina better understand her options.

Justina later shared her experience in a Google review:

“What impressed me even more was the support I received AFTER graduation.”

“They always told us we could reach out to the school if we needed help, and they absolutely meant it!”

— Justina Schiff, IMAGE Electrology & Laser Hair Removal Graduate

Justina’s experience illustrates the kind of ongoing professional relationship we strive to maintain with our graduates.

Our instructors bring practical industry knowledge to the classroom, and that experience can remain a valuable resource as students transition into their careers.

Helping Graduates Navigate Florida Licensing Requirements

For students entering licensed professions, completing their education is an important step—but the application process can sometimes bring unexpected challenges.

Angelica, IMAGE’s School Director, regularly assists students and graduates with licensing-related questions and administrative issues.

Her support has included helping massage therapy graduates when IMAGE was not appearing in the Florida Department of Health’s online school selection system, assisting with incomplete applications, coordinating missing documentation, and helping graduates understand the steps needed to address application issues.

Depending on the program, graduates may interact with agencies such as the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), the Florida Board of Massage Therapy, or the Florida Electrolysis Council.

Angelica works to help graduates understand the process, communicate with the appropriate agencies, and resolve administrative obstacles when possible.

Professional licenses are issued by the applicable regulatory agencies, but graduates can benefit from having a knowledgeable school team available to help them navigate the process.

Student Success by the Numbers

IMAGE opened in May 2025, and our first full annual reporting period covered July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026.

During that period, IMAGE reported:

99.3% Graduation Rate

99% Job Placement Rate

We’re proud of these results, particularly as a relatively new career school serving the Southwest Florida community.

They reflect the accomplishments of students who committed to their education, completed their training, and took meaningful steps toward their professional goals.

Our focus remains on providing quality education, practical preparation, and individualized support as students move from training into their chosen fields.

Figures represent IMAGE’s reported institution-wide outcomes for July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026. Individual program results may vary. Employment and professional licensure are not guaranteed.
